Tailings Dam Raise 2018-2019

From May 2018 to March 2019, CPH Mining & Civil completed a significant tailings dam raise project for BHP, valued at $15,500,000. This project involved raising the existing embankments and implementing various enhancements to ensure the dam’s integrity and operational efficiency.

Key services provided by CPH for this project include:

• Raising the existing embankments with a sand filter and working platform
• Constructing an inspection track on the toe and access ramps for embankments
• Building an embankment and inspection track on the Northern Embankment
• Raising the existing spillway to accommodate increased capacity
• Reshaping the eastern stockpile and constructing a new eastern embankment
• Supplying, installing, and commissioning new tailings pipelines and flow meters
• Implementing an online dam embankment integrity monitoring system
• Installing movement monitoring points and survey monuments
• Supply, installation and commissioning of new flow meters at the TSF on the tailings pipeline.
