Caval Ridge Highway Crossings

Overview

In 2013, CPH Mining & Civil successfully completed a project for BHP (Caval Ridge Mine) to facilitate the crossing of the Peak Downs Highway by massive mining equipment, including 3,000T draglines and 1,400T rope shovels. This project required extensive planning and execution to ensure safe and efficient crossings of critical infrastructure.

Key services provided by CPH for this project include:

  • Earthworks to create highway crossings for heavy mining equipment
  • Constructing earth ramps across the highway, 1.5m high and 30m wide
  • Implementing detours and traffic management to minimise disruption
  • Working under tight timeframes to ensure efficient crossings
  • Protecting the highway from the immense weight of the equipment
  • Supporting the movement of draglines and rope shovels across the highway
