Flying high and giving back

BMA CQ Rescue

CPH lifts community spirit by sponsoring local events and life-saving services like the BMA CQ Rescue.

CPH Mining & Civil’s Role in building a stronger CQ

At CPH Mining & Civil, community support isn’t just a value – it’s a way of life. From lifesaving services to local events in the Bowen Basin, CPH proudly invests in initiatives like BMA CQ Rescue that support the Moranbah and other Central Queensland communities. Let’s take a closer look at how CPH is making an impact.

Lifesaving support

When emergencies strike, the BMA CQ Rescue helicopter is often the first responder, bringing expert emergency services to even the most remote areas.

Since 2020, CPH Mining & Civil has been a Gold Sponsor of BMA CQ Rescue, contributing annually to ensure the chopper remains operational.

This sponsorship isn’t just about money for CPH’s Founder Colin Ritson, who was a nurse and Operating Theatre Manager in his early years. For him and the team at CPH, it’s a commitment to supporting services that save lives.

From responding to medical emergencies to assisting accident victims, the helicopter rescue team’s work perfectly aligns with CPH’s vision of supporting the local community.

Sponsorships that unite the local communities

CPH’s sponsorship support also extends to events that bring people together, creating opportunities for connection and celebration.

Here are just a few recent highlights:

  • 2025 Moranbah Campdraft: CPH is excited to be a sponsor of the 40th Anniversary Bronze Titles Campdraft. This iconic event showcases the region’s love for horsemanship and we’re proud to support this wonderful event again this year.
  • Rugby League Mackay & District RISE Program: In a show of support for young athletes, CPH sponsored the North Queensland RISE carnival in Townsville. This initiative nurtured the next generation of sports talent while fostering teamwork and resilience.
  • 2024 Moranbah Rodeo: The whole team got behind this popular community event through sponsorship and participation, offering a fun-filled day for residents and visitors alike.
  • Events like these strengthen bonds and create lasting memories and we’re proud to be involved.
