Vegetation and Topsoil Removal

CPH Mining & Civil completed a major vegetation clearing and topsoil stripping project at Caval Ridge Mine in 2014, valued at close to $20M. This project enabled BHP to commence and continue pre-strip operations at the Caval Ridge Mine, which was then under construction.

Key achievements for CPH during the project include:

• Executing vegetation clearing and topsoil stripping operations
• Moving up to 320,000 cubic meters of topsoil per month
• Utilising a fleet of scrapers and articulated dump trucks
• Hauling topsoil over distances of up to 3.5km
• Supporting BHP’s pre-strip operations at Caval Ridge Mine
• Contributing to the early stages of mine development
